The OEM bolts typically can't handle the additional pressure from high-performance applications which can lead to the cylinder head lifting.

The threads are rolled after heat-treating to deliver optimum fatigue strength. These studs are rated at 225K-233K psi tensile strength and 205K-215K yield strength to ensure a strong hold under higher combustion pressures.

Apply XDP X-TRA Slick Lubricant to head studs, head bolts, main studs, main bolts, connecting rod bolts, and any other fasteners used during engine assembly. Using a proper assembly lubricant during fastener installation reduces friction and torque pre-load scatter in the torquing sequence, while also helping to prevent thread galling and seizing.
