Keep your Powerstroke engine protected and running smoothly by preventing harmful contaminants from damaging critical fuel system components.
CP4 high pressure pumps are considered problematic for the 6.7L Ford Powerstroke engine due to them being more sensitive than other high pressure pumps. They are more susceptible to contamination due to tighter tolerances and higher operating pressures. When the pump fails It sends debris into the rest of the system and requires a several thousand-dollar replacement of injectors, rails, lines, etc.
SPE has rewritten the book and designed a kit that has none of the installation downfalls or shortcomings of other options on the market. SPE has taken a simple outlook and designed our system as it would come from the factory. When installed it appears that the truck came that way. All while still being reversible. There is no cutting involved, no rubber fuel lines, and no pex clamps.
Benefits:
The CP4 fuel pump in Powerstroke engines can lead to catastrophic failures if contaminated fuel or internal debris circulates through the system. The Generation 2 Disaster Prevention Kit offers a dual-feed solution that ensures only clean fuel reaches the metering valve, protecting the high-pressure heads and injectors from damage.
How It Works:
The CP4 pump relies on diesel fuel for lubrication. It receives the fuel from the lift pump which flows into the crankcase before it flows to the MPROP (volume control valve) and eventually to the pump heads and then the high-pressure lines. The problem arises when the crankcase fuel becomes contaminated, sending debris to the MPROP then to the Cp4 pump heads and out to the injectors.
Our Generation 2 kit changes the fuel flow routing, ensuring that clean fuel from the filter feeds the MPROP instead of contaminated fuel from the crankcase. This effectively isolates any failure within the pump, preventing debris from reaching the high-pressure system.
